Bio
Antoinette is the founder and Chief Executive Officer of Comken. She is a communications consultant with a vision and passion for leadership when it comes to development issues within the global arena.
Experience
Antoinette is a highly motivated and committed self-starter with over 10 years’ experience at the helm of the Communication’s department of the Energy Regulation Commission where she managed to design and implement a Communication Policy, Stakeholder Engagement Framework, Service Delivery Charter, Resource Centre Policy and the CSR Policy.
She successfully established an effective Communications Unit and helped raise awareness of the Commission by 80 % by using effective and strategic communication tools.
Antoinette successfully led the team that developed the new ERC Corporate Identity and coordinated, in collaboration with the World Bank a successful Commission study tour worth over $100,000 to South East Asia and the Nordic countries.
She has also served at the National UNV Communication and as a Personal Assistant to the Minister of Planning & National Development/United Nations Development Programme where she set up an effective communication system that helped manage high profile sensitive communication in the Minister’s office.
Antoinette has headed the Communications department at the Association for Better Land Husbandry where she designed and implemented a successful communication and advocacy strategy for western and central Kenya and the wider East Africa Region.
She served as the Chief Public Relations Officer & Personal Assistant to the Mayor and Town Clerk, Nairobi City Council (NCC where she introduced a motor tracking system that resulted in the Council saving 0.5m on fuel as well as wrote, designed and published the first Council newsletter, City Mirror.
Skills
Antoinette has exceptional leadership skills, outstanding interpersonal skills, strong analytical, writing, and research skills which developed whilst writing and reviewing communication and advocacy policy documents. Her extensive research experience is honed through conducting communications audits, perception and audience surveys, content analysis development and organizational communication research.
Education
Antoinette is currently pursuing her Doctorate degree in Communications from Daystar University. She has a Master’s of Communication degree from Daystar University and a Bachelor of Education Degree in Education from the University of Nairobi.
