We were engaged by BioInnovate Africa to strengthen the visibility and uptake of biologically based research innovations through strategic storytelling and science communication. This work involved two key components: regional storytelling training workshop and podcast series – amplifying innovation voices
For the workshop, we designed and delivered a tailored training module on “Storytelling for Science Impact”, equipping researchers and innovators to communicate complex scientific ideas through compelling, audience-relevant narratives.
To expand outreach, we conceptualized, scripted and hosted a podcast series featuring scientists, entrepreneurs and policymakers advancing the bioeconomy in Eastern Africa.
Key Results:
- Built capacity of 30+ participants to craft innovation stories linked to community needs and SDGs.
- Facilitated development of communication materials (elevator pitches, policy briefs, digital content).
- Strengthened regional collaboration and storytelling strategies across 8 countries.
- Created an accessible digital platform to share success stories and lessons.
- Enhanced BioInnovate Africa’s thought leadership and visibility.
- Fostered greater stakeholder engagement across the innovation ecosystem.
