Project Target

Mikisa International School had a problem with its stakeholders which led to a communication breakdown. As a result, Mikisa management selected Commken from numerous PR firms to help it rebuild its reputation, enhance relationships with its stakeholders, and also developed a crisis communications plan. Thereafter, we were also tasked with implementing the stakeholder engagement strategy which entailed digital communication channels.
Commken began by assessing the problem at the school and analyzing their stakeholders in order to meet the institution’s targeted needs and devise a communication strategy that will address the issues. To ensure the institution remained capable of handling any issues that may arise later after our contract elapses, we developed a communication strategy and plan, crisis plan, and complaint procedure policy and trained the team on how to implement them as we work hand in hand with them during implementation. We also coached the Mikisa leadership team to help them build communication skills that would enable them to communicate effectively with their stakeholders
The results
During the time we were working with Mikisa (2021-2022), we were able to enhance the relationship between the school and parents and we were also able to rebuild the institution’s reputation leading to more admissions compared to the previous years. Besides, Mikisa’s online engagements increased and their page’s following doubled. At the time the contract elapsed, Mikisa staff and leaders understood their stakeholder’s needs and were able to communicate effectively both online and offline and resolve issues before they turn into a big crisis. Mikisa now has a working communication strategy and plan that they update annually courtesy of Commken Consult Afrique Limited.
